As an Employment Specialist, you'll be responsible for helping adults with disabilities find and retain employment.
Outcomes and impact will be the main indicator of success in this position.
This position will work with clients in Kitsap County and Jefferson County to expand our service area.
Assist clients with pre-employment tasks such as resume creation, applying for jobs, and interview prep.
Utilize SMART goals with clients to help guide goal setting, track progress, and monitor growth.
Create work opportunities for adults with disabilities at local businesses and serve as a job coach for clients.
Communicate effectively, establish, and maintain positive working relationships with customers, employers, job site supervisors, internal departments, parents/guardians, care staff, referral sources, external agencies, and the public.
Assist employers in identifying and implementing accommodations for employment barriers including behavior supports and adaptive technology.
Input data to maintain case files, documentation, and case notes within required time frames.
Effectively manage a caseload of up to 30 clients.

Experience working with people with disabilities preferred.
Highly sought certifications:
ASL, Benefits Planning, experience with DVR, Ticket to Work, Foundational Community Supports.
Ability to use Microsoft Office and other computer software programs.
Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate with others in a courteous, professional, and helpful way.
Knowledge of community resources to assist clients in overcoming barriers to employment.
A valid state Driver's license is required with the ability to obtain and maintain coverage by Skookum's insurance.
Must be able to obtain and maintain applicable security clearances and installation access.
A background check and E-Verify will be conducted for this position.
Must be able to pass Social Security and Washington State DSHS background checks.
Must obtain and maintain First Aid and CPR certification.
