The incumbent in this position serves as a Fire Inspector in the Fire Prevention Division of the Navy Region Northwest Fire & Emergency Services.
You must be a US Citizen. Must be registered for Selective Service, see Legal & Regulatory Guidance. Suitable for Federal employment as determined by background investigation. Selectee may be required to successfully complete a probationary period. You must obtain and maintain a security clearance.
Researches technical manuals, fire codes, and trade references to reduce or eliminate fire hazards/conditions.
Reviews engineering plans and specifications for new construction, alteration, and/or extension of existing structures to ensure fire safety.
Briefs employees of their fire protection/prevention responsibilities while working at the facility.
Ensures quality objectives, priorities and work standards for fire protection/detection systems are completely established.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience is defined as experience that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled and has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities, to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1)Conducting fire safety training to groups; 2) Eliminating or reducing hazardswhere the expectancy and potential for severity is high; 3) Inspectingbuildings for potential fire hazards (e.g. obstructed exists, presence ofcombustible materials, etc.) and 4) Adapting fire protection/preventiontechniques to correct conditions or hazardous situations.
This position required the incumbent to possess the following certifications: Fire Inspector I, Fire Inspector II, Fire Instructor I, and HAZMATAwareness. These certifications must have been awarded by DoD, IFSAC orProBoard to meet the requirement. If you do not possess all of the abovecertifications you will be rating ineligible. Incumbent may be required to participate on Hazardous Materials Teams (HAZMAT).
Incumbent is required to be certified in CPR and to maintain current certification at all times.
Incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
