JOB SUMMARY:

Providescare and support to patients under the direction of the physician and/ormid-level provider. Contributes to the planning and delivery of patientfocused care.

ESSENTIALDUTIES:

Screens,communicates and responds to patient needs appropriately; managing patient flowto ensure enough time for patient care and family education. Delegates tasks toother caregivers as license permits.

Greet andprepare patients for practitioner. Provide patient mobility assistance, asnecessary. Obtain and record vital signs and other appropriate information,such as height, weight, drug allergies, current medications and presentingproblem. Anticipates the needs of the patient and the practitioner duringthe exam.

Administerordered medications via oral, subcutaneous, intramuscular, intradermal, orsublingual routes. Start IV s, maintain and administer IV fluids/meds asordered by provider.

Undersupervision of the practitioner, inform patients of lab results, call inprescriptions to pharmacies and return practitioners phone messages. Ensurethat the patient or family understands follow-up and referral information.Provide general health education within own level of expertise and as directedby practitioner and nurse supervisor;

Prepare,clean and sterilize instruments and maintain equipment; keep patient exam roomsclean and orderly; dispose of contaminated items according to FranciscanMedical Group Exposure Control Plan; anticipate Practitioner's needs formedications, supplies and equipment and plan accordingly.

Assist withdiagnostic tests and procedures to appropriate level of training andestablished procedures. Ensure patient privacy and comfort during the exam;instruct patients in the collection of samples and other tests.

Activelyparticipate in continuing education and meetings; participates in committees asrequested; and participants in professional development activities andmaintains professional affiliations.

Triages andresponds to patient telephone call using approved protocols; ensuringdocumentation of the phone call meets standards. Qualification:

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Graduate of accredited school of Registered Nursing approved bythe WA State Board of Nursing required, BSN preferred.
  • One year clinic RN experience or 2 years of acute careexperience preferred
  • Current WA State license as RN required
  • Current CPR certification or must be certified within 30 days ofhire date.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
