Description:
The Electronics Technician Maintenance applies basic technical knowledge to perform simple or routine tasks following detailed instructions, performs such tasks as replacing components, wiring circuits, repairing simple electronic equipment; and taking test readings using common instruments such as digital multi-meters, signal generators, semiconductor testers, curve tracers, and oscilloscopes.
Applies basic and some advanced technical knowledge to solve routine problems by interpreting manufacturers' manuals or similar documents. Work requires familiarity with the interrelationships of circuits and judgment in planning work sequence, in selecting tools, testing instruments, and is reviewed for compliance with accepted practices.
Education: Associate's degree in an electronics discipline.
Experience: At least 1 year of experience in electronic repair, maintenance, and installation, which includes work directly involving radio communications systems.
OR
Education: A high school diploma or GED plus completion of a technical school, trade school, or advanced armed services technical school curriculum in electricity, electronics, avionics, mechanics, or engineering technology, U.S. Navy Electronics A or C school or equivalent as identified in the definition for Technical Rating.
Qualifications Requires High School diploma or equivalent with five to six years of related experience. Technical training equivalent to an Associates degree preferred. Degrees High School Diploma or GED Certificate
