For sale! 1960`s Musima 6 string banjo needs strings / Set up. One tuning button has been replaced, not pristene , has signs of age and use - chip board case is a bit ratty , but will keep the instrument safe This is a GDR made 6-string banjo. GDR-made (former East Germany) instruments were among the best of all "Eastern block" guitars - the communist rule could not easily make German people lazy and ignorant, so the quality of the instruments remained relatively high. This banjo is a Musima and these were usually priced twice higher than other Soviet/Czechoslovakian/Bulgarian instruments on the market behind the Iron Curtain. Musima stringed instruments were the instruments of choice of many professional musicians in the Eastern Europe. Although considered a "hi-end" in the "communist" region, Musimas' quality was still far from a real hi-end and even "second-grade" instruments made by Hagstrom and other neighbors. Great EQ, only problem is that it's been sitting around too long. Purchased it for a backup. However my back is out, so I stopped a long time ago. Also the perfect eq for a musicians home stereo. Lost boxes and manuals a long time ago, sure the manual can be downloaded or ordered from the company....
